HOW IT WORKS

How to convert GPX to FIT

  1. 01

    Import the GPX

Drag a GPX into the editor or pick it with Import.

  2. 02

    Add waypoints and points

Optionally add turns, summits or aid stations — they project into FIT course points.

  3. 03

    Export the FIT course (Premium)

Pick FIT in the Export panel. The route is reduced to the device's point limit and downloads as a FIT course. Until Premium launches, download a GPX track — Garmin Connect imports it too.

Frequently asked questions

Why FIT instead of GPX directly?+

Garmin handles GPX too, but a FIT course gives more reliable navigation, course points and better battery life while navigating.

How many points can FIT hold?+

On export we downsample the route sensibly so it fits the device memory and navigation stays smooth.

Does it work on Fenix and Edge?+

Yes. The FIT course loads onto most Garmin watches (Fenix, Forerunner) and Edge bike computers.
